Official VLC app teased for Android

For all the various media types and codecs that our Android smartphones and tablets are able to handle, it’s still nothing compared to VLC media player. As our favorite way of watching movies and videos on our desktops, we’ve long pined for an official Android client. Long, as in years…That day appears to be drawing near, according to a recent tweet from its developers, VideoLan.

While there are a number of VLC-related apps in the Google Play store, none of them are official, nor are they the experience for which we’ve been holding out. Let’s hope that they’ve finished this app up and are uploading to Google Play in short order.
Respect knuckles to SL2021 for passing along
